Buenas Dias Chavacanos!
Buenas DIAS! Here's your Maestro Nikko and my blog for today will be about the two CHAVACANO terms used daily:
"Buenas Dias" (Good Day)
- Is the most commonly used Chavacano word everyday. Wherever the Chavacanos are as long as they met someone they know along the way "BUENAS DIAS" is the first word that comes out of their mouth. This word is very common to all Chavacanos but very Important and greatly shows concern and affections to their " Fellow Chavacanos".
Sample Sentence
Scenario: A Teacher in the Classroom
- BUENAS DIAS maga bata pavor lebanta todo para na reso.
Translation: Good day students please all stand for the prayer.
"Chene tu Kwidaw" (Take Care)
- Is one of the most economical terms in Chavacano daily expressions that shows caring and sweetness to their love ones . This is a very typical to Chavacano families especially when a father is leaving for work and whentimes that children are going to live for school.
Sample Sentence
Scenario: A child leaves the house for school.
- " Iho, Por pavor CHENE TU KWIDAW na eskwela y estudia buenamente.
Translation: "Son please take care at school and study well".
